Thinking of moving to Pheonix, Peoria, Glendale Arizona?

Glendale
Soccer Mom asked:

I am from outside boston and a bit tired of the cold, the snow, the high rents, etc. We are thinking moving to Arizona, we have been looking in the towns around Pheonix, any suggestions on the best towns, good schools, decent jobs etc. We don’t mind the heat, we just can’t take the snow and ice. We were thinking Flagstaff but heard it snowed there.

Hey my friend lives in a suburb and she has a good schedule that your kids WOULD LOVE! Every Wednesday is a half day (she’s in elem.) Her suburb is called Surprise you should check it out. I’m sorry but I don’t know much about the schools.

It does snow in Flagstaff, but it’s a lot more mild than Boston. Still, if you want heat, then you want Phoenix. As for where, Phoenix is a bit weird and very unlike Boston in that it’s so new, it hasn’t really developed “neighborhoods” yet. It’s more “areas” and “locations,” so there’s nothing like, say, Beacon Hill.

Still, Scottsdale’s downtown is nice, as is Glendale’s, and there’s some very nice areas in north and central Phoenix. Downtown Phoenix is also starting to boom, though it’ll probably be after light rail comes in that it will really take off.
